UCCRN Hosts Visit from Chinese Research Delegation

On 12 April, Daniel Bader (Program Manager of the Consortium for Climate Risk in the Urban Northeast), Somayya Ali Ibrahim (UCCRN Program Manager) and Danielle Peters (Project Manager of the New York City Panel on Climate Change (NPCC)) met with a 10-member research delegation from China.

Headed by Prof. Peijun Shi from Beijing Normal University, the research delegation were working on a project titled “Global Change Risk of Population and Economic Systems (GCR-PES): Mechanisms and Assessments” as part of the National Key R&D Program of China in the field of ‘Global Change and Mitigation’.

The visit started with presentations on UCCRN and NPCC from Daniel, Somayya and Danielle, followed by a presentation by the Chinese delegation on their project, followed by an exciting discussion on how both UCCRN and the delegation could work collaboratively on future projects on climate change risks involving the East Asian hub.
