This call is open to academic researchers, city and knowledge networks, civil society groups, NGOs, practitioners, and municipal governments.
The deadline for Phase One Case Study Submissions is July 15, 2025.
We encourage folks to submit case studies that document urban climate solutions, including both successful initiatives and those that offer lessons through their challenges, as well as proposed city climate plans. We welcome submissions of both new and existing case studies developed by researchers, city governments, networks, and practitioners. The UCCRN City Solutions Case Study Atlas (City CSA) will also accept case studies written in multiple languages. Submission guidelines and protocols have been developed to provide details for preparing and submitting case studies for a range of users.

Additional Information
Case studies hosted in the UCCRN City CSA highlight and benchmark innovative climate adaptation and mitigation strategies in cities worldwide. The UCCRN City CSA will serve as a resource for both research and practice, providing actionable insights for urban climate change planning and implementation for city actions around the world. The UCCRN City CSA is aimed at a range of users, including city practitioners and authors of major climate assessment reports such as the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities (SR-Cities) and the IPCC AR7 Working Group Reports, and UCCRN’s Third Assessment Report on Climate Change and Cities (ARC3.3). The goal is to support applied action on the ground, as well as to inform research and national and global climate policy.
In addition to contributing to a new innovative global resource, submitting a case study offers several key benefits. Your city's challenges and innovations will gain international visibility, putting your work on the map, literally, and opening doors to potential partnerships and funding opportunities. For cities leading on climate action, it is a powerful way to align with a data-driven, evidence-based community of practice. This initiative also prioritizes the inclusion of underrepresented cities, including small and medium-sized cities, cities in the Global South, and Indigenous-led efforts, ensuring greater representation and equity in the global urban climate conversation.
The UCCRN City CSA team will review and embed your case study(ies) into the Atlas. This will include checking the Metadata Template and reviewing the case study. We will work with case study authors to ensure that the information is complete and accurate and hold regular meetings to enhance networking opportunities.
