UCCRN recently presented at the ICLEI Resilient Cities 2017 forum which was held in Bonn, Germany from 4-6 May, 2017. UCCRN Associate Director Somayya Ali Ibrahim, and ARC3.2 Coordinating Lead Authors Peter Meyer and Stelios Grafakos, facilitated an exciting discussion session titled ‘Science-policy Interface, the UCCRN, and the Role of Global City Networks Towards the #CitiesIPCC Conference‘. Panelists and the audience actively discussed innovative modes of information sharing that would aid key decision-makers in cities around the world.

UCCRN also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ICLEI, represented by ICLEI Secretary General, Gino van Begin and Somayya Ali Ibrahim on behalf of UCCRN. UCCRN and ICLEI have been collaborating together on numerous initiatives since 2009, and this MoU marks the establishment of an even closer collaboration and a strengthened partnership between local governments and researchers on urban development in the context of climate change.
